Seasons Past and Present
2019 - 2020: Skystone
This season's game had more elements concentrated in the endgame portion than the last two seasons.
The main theme of this season's game was building the future and developing the future in any way can imagine it. The actual implementation of this in the game was the idea of constructing a skyscraper using specific components, including the new Skystone and Capstone. Blocks are stacked or placed on top of the Build Plate like Lego blocks then stacked on top of each other in the same fashion. |
2018 - 2019: Rover Ruckus
The Rover Ruckus game focused mainly on the autonomous and endgame portion in terms of point distribution.
This season's main theme focused on extraterrestrial travel and mining, likely influenced by the then-recent support from a Star Wars branch and the recent efforts in asteroid mining. The center of the game field featured a large square "rover" where whiffle balls and small yellow cubes would be placed into specified compartments on the sides during main game. The most points may be gained by hanging the robot on a small hook on the sides of the rover, lowering them during autonomous, then re-latching during endgame. |
2017 - 2018: Relic Recovery
Relic Recovery's game seems to have the most balanced point system over the three time sections (autonomous, main game, and endgame) in comparison to the other two seasons of the last three.
The game's main component was a grid system of four vertical sidebars and a central "pit" of medium-sized foam blocks, similar to those in a "foam pit" at some recreational facilities. Robots would stack the foam blocks one at a time to form a four by three block grid in various patterns during autonomous and main game. One could also retrieve a small human figure called a "totem" to place outside of the field in a designated strip during endgame. The game's theme was a reuse of previous seasons' elements, such as the foam blocks, grid system, and totem. |
